Malware/Spyware Protection & Removal:

Another way that your computer is at risk
is through files and programs called
SpyWare or AdWare.

These programs or files are a kind of hybrid
virus.  They install themselves when you
go onto a unscrupulous website, when you
download and install some FreeWare, and
some programs that you actually pay for.

They stay activated on your system, and
watch how you use the internet.  They can
harvest your passwords, eMail address, as
well as the addresses of all your eMail
contacts.  Then  they report this information
to their company's servers.  From there this
information will be used to target you for
junk eMail.

 Besides being used for spamming you, they
can be used for other unimaginable purposes.
Sometimes when you install software, the
small print in the user agreement that you
have to accept before installation will tell
you about how this software will use your
private information.  Other times they won't
tell you at all.  

Besides being a blatant invasion of your
privacy, these utilities can cause your
computer to crash, and at the very least will
use up ram, precious resources, and
processor cycles, slowing your machine
down considerably.

There are several utilities available for
cleansing your machine of harmful SpyWare.
The best by far is a free utility called
AdAware.  You can download it by clicking
here.  You can upgrade the free version
to a pro version for a nominal fee.  The
pro version will check incoming files and
do a bit more than the free version.  But
the basic version, if used weekly, or
monthly, depending on internet use, will
be adaquit to provide protection for
your computer.  As with anti-virus utilities
you must also occasionally update the
program to keep it functioning efficiently.
This can be done by a simple click of
a button. Another Must-Have utility to defeat
malware is CWSshredder, just click here. This
utility will detect and clean up most varients
of the Cool Web Search Malware.  The last
utility that is necessary for any complete
anti malware arsinal is Bazooka Scanner.

update it on their site, with just the press of
a button.  Then scan your system.  It will
let you know what it has found very quickly.
